I'm not a real big fan, having only made 1 disc successfully off of it.

In this instance Adobe mean "mud" as in "your name is mud".

And Encore deserves no such encore. In fact, they need a boo-ing right off stage.

This program is as disappointing as GoLive was.

My biggest gripe is it refuses Half-D1. What a crock. Somebody needs to tell the goobers at Adobe that the DVD spec has several valid resolutions.

Never used it, so I can't say.

But then, with a good working knowledge of DVD-Lab, Photoshop, Premiere along with a healthy imagination, I don't see any reason to use Ancore.

The main selling point, was the intergration with Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects. Since I have no problems importing my assets into DVD-Lab, I have no complaints.

Integration with the other Adobe apps is pretty much all it has going for it right now. However motion menus are a bit easier and realtime preview is nice. Something needs to be done in order to address the bugs it has. I haven't used half-D1 res since I got started with digital video so I guess I don't have a problem that it can't accept it. Best using DV avi files with it instead as it seems to like that better, though motion menus will render quicker with an elementary MPEG clip.

Seeing as I'm provided with Adobe software and don't have to steal it I'll find a way to make it work

I've made a thread on Encore myself and promised to come back with comments. Sorry I didn't - so far - I was too "depressed" to even remember...

I even re-installed Windows XP replacing my loved and trusted Win2K (Encore "believes" win2K is not good enough for it to operate) only to find out that Encore is an extremelly shiny and well packaged piece of garbage.

The user interface and clarity - I must confess - is superior to DVDMaestro or Scenarist, however for serious work, Encore is rubbish.

If DVDLab had built in support for multi-audio tracks or subtitles, then it would make for a far superior solution.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  6. I was actually banned from Adobe's forums for awhile because I complained so much. I really got behind on some projects and pretty much lost all my marbles and took it out on Adobe. They deserved it. The program shows much promise but is riddled with bugs out the #$$%. Horrible product. Worst EVER by Adobe as far as bugs go. Terrible!!!!!!! I tried like HELL to make the stupid program worked but ran into bug after cryptic bug. The program is hopeless. The most insulting part was the pleading of ingnorance by Adobe's tech support. They blamed all the problems on everything except the application. I am surprised they did not try to blame sun spots or some voodoo curse. Maybe version 1.5 or version 2.0 will be okay but as it stands Adobe is outright commiting a crime by charging 500+ dollars for the abortion that is Encore. TOTAL TRASH. The company I work for purchased the program because I suggested it, the worst decision I made so far at my job. We were able to return the piece of $hit luckily.
