It seems like on a typical Friday 3 or 4 people visit the forum, while the rest are off having "real lives". So who is here today?? And why are you here.
I'm here because I work on Fridays, and need a way to pass the time.![]()

I'm here because I've had such a manic morning I need a break, and I've double the work to do this PM
Willtgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have. -
I'm here whilst at work. Dvdrhelp helps me fill in the time between re-compiles and tests on the software I am debugging.

I'm here because my computer is too busy to do anything else besides run the Internet without crashing. Nothing on tv. Finished my work for the week, so nothing until next week.
This is the only place I go online these days, for the most part. I've been online so many years I feel like the guy in that commercial... the one where he reached the end of the Internet. Anything I ever wanted to research as a hobby, I've already looked into.
You know what? Screw this. I'm gonna go for a walk.:P

The best idea I have thought up so far tonight though was the One Man Film Festival. -

here while at work... I work as a receptionist, so in between people coming and going, I can hang out here...
as for blocked eBay... they've got www.ebay.com blocked here, but if I go to pages.ebay.com, it comes up. (they have recently managed to disable the script that views auction pages, though, so I can check my watch list, leave feedback, do searches, etc, but I can't actually view or bid on an auction..)- housepig

Friday is normally my day break and I go out to enjoy.
However, the last two Friday's weren't the lazy days and unfortunately I got into problems with my local telco and too busy updating my computer system the following Friday.
I wasn't impressed with the telco at all and in fact I was very angry on that Friday.
There was a telephone and Internet outage lasting for 14 hours. I have to go out to get help so my services would be restored urgently.
I also needed to go the local bank to get an urgent payment done instead of doing it online. I wasn’t very happy at all.
The telephone line was restored quickly just before lunch. This wasn't all; there were more problems that Friday all day due the same telephone supplier.
Their online payment server was out of order all day and an unreasonable credit card payment restriction on an outside website.
I can’t get anything done with these ridiculous barriers. The telco wasted a lot of my time on that Friday and I blasted them. Where is the compensation?
That same telephone company is also the biggest ISP in Australia and recently a lot of complaints were submitted to authorities due to poor services generally.
Its Internet services are particularly very bad recently and problems are still there especially with email going slower than normal mail with email outages.
Anyway, last Friday I was very busy all day and got the chance to go to my local club for a few drinks and to eat out. The night out was a great. -
Don't you just love dealing with Telstra? That's why I switched to Optus.

I am not impressed with the telco at all.
My ISP is iPrimus; I don’t have a problem with them and got no restrictions going online. Their servers are very reliable and I very rarely experience an outage. There is no download and time restrictions either.
In fact, my website is at iPrimus and my web pages are safe from accidental deletion. Not like at Telstra having personal web pages gone by a server bug.
I’ll never join Telstra's BigPond with all its problems. I can't even get a decent cable broadband connection here at home.
There are a lot of complaints on Whirlpool’s forums, the website located in Melbourne. Check out: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/
Telstra isn’t a good enough ISP for me.
