Nero DVD making

I have encoded a avi file using TMPGEnc it gave me 2 files a mpeg and a wave. When I go to Nero to make a DVD do I pick dvd-video and when I do where do I put the mpeg and wave file. When I put the mpeg file in the video folder it says it is the wrong type. Can someone tell me How to burn a dvd using nero(I am very new to this just bought me Burner two days ago) Thanks

You can't just burn an mpeg to a DVDr and expect it to play in your set top player. You need to 'author' the DVD first. Take a look here
