  1. Hi. I'm trying to back up my copy of "Major League." Every single file rips fine except for the 4th VOB in the movie's titleset. The VOB is roughly a gigabyte, but won't rip past 850MB. I've tried both DVD Decrypter and SmartRipper. Any ideas? Is there anything I can do with the incomplete title set? I'm asking because the VOB cuts off during the end credits. I don't mind missing the end credits.

Also, I was wondering about something. I made a short film that I put on DVD. I want to give my friend a copy of the film. Since there is no copyright encryption, could I just do a disc-to-disc copy with RecordNowMax? You know, the same way I would copy a CD?

Thanks so much for any help.

  2. An update on the problem:

I borrowed a DVD-R copy of the movie from a friend of mine (He frequently lends out his movies, and sadly, Major League was one of them. Luckily, he has backups. ).

Also unfortunately, the copy had the same problem. The 1_4 VOB wouldn't fully rip. Anyone have an idea about what to do?

Forgot to add... none of the discs (original or copy) have scratches, etc. and play perfectly.

    Thanks in advance,
    J

  3. An update, in case some others have a similar problem:

I solved my problem by ripping the movie with SmartRipper, demuxing the M2V and 5.1 AC3 streams. I then reauthored the movie (only a minute of the credits were missing, which is cool) with SpruceUp. Works fine!
