    If I go to do any editing to the timeline such as add transitions or video effects the program will just exit immediately. I don't know what I need to do to fix it. This tool is useless if it's gonna do that!

    Does anybody know how to fix it?

    I strongly suggest you try another application. I still cannot get to execute a simple function without editing either. It is a shame too. It was one of the reasons I got "hooked" on video in the first place. Now I cannot use it. And just try to get MS to answer an email.

    Turn hardware acceleration down or maybe off, and moviemaker 2 will probably work.
