  1. I got a movie off overnet peer 2 peer overnet.com that is an .mpg file at 1200MB... the download has stalled very near the end and i would like to convert the .tmp file that 'edwatch' http://edwatch.cjb.net/ video preview tool created... edwatch uses both AVIPreview http://www.avipreview.com/ and VideoLAN DVD/media player http://www.videolan.org/ to display the video contained in overnet or edonkey .part and .met files...

so anyway, i have a .tmp file which can play in fine in win media player but virtualdub cannot open it due to too many errors... has anyone heard of a .tmp video file ? know of a sure fire way to convert it to .mpg ?

Change the extension from .tmp (temporary) to .mpg, using rename. However if it's broken, that won't fix it, just give it an extension the software might recognize. I would try it on a copy of the file, not the original, because it may damage the file.
