Seriously I would delete your modem in Device Manager and reboot or try System Restore.

i'm sorry, i been stressed Doggiedaddy

I have Windows XP pro, I have a cable modem which i use with a netanywhere router. It's 10/100 eithernet.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing but when I re-install, the gateway reappears.

It works but it only runs at 8megs, opposed to 100.

the gateway says it is connecting to 192.168.1.0, the thing is their is no device on my network with that IP. My router is 192.168.1.1.

The program began when I attempted to join my school's domain so i could use my laptop in yearbook class.

  6. hmmmm the router ip is 192.168.1.100

What if you cloned the mac address of YOUR modem to the Router under its properties. That way the your router would only read your modem.

If all else fails do what tech support always says to do..........POWER CYCLE THE MODEM.

They think that is the answer for everything. It's sad when I know more then the tech support does.

Sounds like a router network address. Do you have

Network Connections>"YOUR CONNECTION">TCP/IP>General>obtain an IP address automatically checked?

If so you can manually config to the desired IP and Mask etc.

I'm guessing but that sounds like a router mask like 172.16.xx.xx etc. If you open command prompt and enter [ ipconfig /all ] is this the IP address given your router??
