UGH! I wish people would get their info straight. (Sorry, Krizzzopolis nothing personal against you, but I've heard this erroneous answer given so many times that it is frustrating.)

GypPlay DOES NOT play VideoCDs on a Dreamcast! It is a special MPEG1 VCD-DAT player. There is a difference. In order to use GypPlay, you must burn a CD with the MPEG/DAT and GypPlay on it. If you have a stack of manufactured VideoCDs, then you will not be able to play them on a Dreamcast without re-burning them with GypPlay on them.

There is a Russian VideoCD player floating around on the net that DOES play VideoCDs. Boot with this disc, then pop in your VideoCD. It is difficult to find, but it is out there.

I used the GypPlay and the Hong Kong's VCD Player.
The GypPlay works well, but the other player is shit.

And about the Russian vcd player, I don't know nothing, and if someone have it, please let me do a try.

  5. I've used the GypPlay to make playable video discs for the Dreamcast. It works ok, but I've found the video playback to be a bit jerky. Then again, maybe if I reduce the bit rate it would smoothen out, but I haven't tried that yet. I'd also be interested in giving that Russian VCD player a shot since I didn't know it existed until now...If anyone finds it please let the rest of us know!
