first i extracted the audio (ac3) from a pal avi using goldwave and converted it to a wav at a frequency of 44100 hz. then i use bbsweet to convert it from pal audio to ntsc audio (29.97)
then i've converted a pal avi fps to ntsc avi fps using avifrate (25 to 29.97).
using tmpgenc, i converted the avi to mpg svcd, while the conversion is working for video; when i preview it, no audio comes out. why?
also, i'm concerned about the fps; according to tmpgenc, the fps is 23.976 (29.97 internally). will that be a problem when viewing on my dvd player?
also, when i click on "settings" while it's encoding, the encode mode says "3:2 pulldown when playback. will that also be a problem with my dvd player?
another thing, tmpgenc, by default, enables inverse telecine when converting this particular pal avi to mpeg. i disabled it because i don't have a progressive scan dvd and TV. did i make the right choice?
finally, does mpeg precision in tmpgenc really make a significant difference? that is, will i see a HUGE difference in quality between high precision and low precision?

What is your destination format. 44.1 is fine for (S)VCD, you need 48k for DVDOriginally Posted by dave_c

That is correct if you set the aviframe rate to 23.976fps (see above)Originally Posted by dave_c

Between fastest and slowest, difference is quite large. Use Normal or High. Highest is much slower than high but not the improvement is minimal.Originally Posted by dave_c
