Ya' know I bought my Pioneer A05 back when it was $250 and only does DVD-R. Why can't anyone put -R on sale?! I love TDK media and this is a great price!

Well, you can buy memorex -R media at best buy for the same price.

memorex -R media, in my experience, is complete crap. More than 80% failure rate in a ten pack I tested.

the best buy I went to was out of the memorix so they gave me Imation's, instead which are alot better than the memorix

memorex -R media, in my experience, is complete crap. More than 80% failure rate in a ten pack I tested.

Knock on wood (cause I have 37 Memorex -R left), but I haven't had one coaster from 63 Memorex -R on my Pioneer A05. They've all worked great.

I would also like to know the media ID of the TDK DVD-R media on sale at BB this week. In looking at the media ID archives on this site, it looks like it would either be Maxell 2X or Ritek 4X media. That makes this not a deal or a pretty good deal 8)

TDKG02000000 is the Media code on this 100 pack from BsetBuy, Quality and compatibility is pretty good. But I did have a 10% Coasters from the pack. but the other 90 are flawless and play back on all DVD standalones I have tested both top end brand and lower end brands.

If the media code is Ritek G04, then the blanks are 4X regardless of what it says on the outer packaging. That would make this a pretty good deal for local pickup.

Irosado- What is your setup? 10% coasters on TDK media sounds way out of the norm and maybe there is an issue with your PC/software config.

Yea, but it doesnt say that. it is G02, ergo it is not 4x

Do you have a 100 spindle of TDK DVD-R media that gives a media code of 'Ritek G01'? I looked at the media list on this site and found only G04 Ritek listed, not Ritek G01. It looks like these spindles will either give you Maxell or TDK 1X/2X media or Ritek G04/Taiyo Yuden G01 4X media.

Wrong, they are TDK G02 not G04/G01 or Maxells. I bought these already.
