  1. I am always happy to find that some of my favorite older titles are on single layered dvd's since then I save a lot of time and can do a 1 to 1 copy. But on many of these discs, I find that the resulting copy is a coaster. For instance I recently did a copy of Groundhog Day using DVD Decrypter and Nero (didn't need to use DVD2ONE since it was a single layer). The resulting copy played fine on my computer, but my Sony DVP-NS 315B gave me a dirty disc error message. When I repeat the process, but include the DVD2ONE process to get rid of the menu and extra features, the resulting disc plays fine in all players. While this doesn't happen all of the time with single layered discs, it does happen enough to make me a little annoyed. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Are you using the files mode in decrypter? If not be sure to do this. Also, UDF/ISO in nero? Also another burner like Record Now.

Use DVD DECRYPTER in ISO READ mode to RIP the DVD to your HDD then use DVD DECRYPTER in ISO WRITE mode to BURN to a DVD recordable.

That is about as simple and error free as you can get.

Of course this only works on SINGLE LAYER DVD discs.

  6. Thank you all for your suggestions. I don't think it's a media problem since I've used various media and this has happened to more than one brand of disc. Also, I know that the settings on Decrypter are correct so I don't think it's that either. I guess from now on I'll use DVD Decrypter for the rip and burn, at least for single layer discs anyway. Thank you all again.

  7. My last few single layer DVDs that I have made an iso using dvddecryptor and then buring with DVDdecryptor have had some artifacts in them. I'm pretty concerned because in theory it should be the same movie since nothing was done to it.

    Anyone experience the same?

Next time I'll try buring with something other than DVDdecryptor.

Either the artifacts are on the original are it's a media problem.
I don't see how it could be DVD Decrypter's fault.

  9. I backup DVD5 DVD's all the time using SmartRipper then RecordNow Max to burn the DVDR. I have never had a single problem doing it this way.
