I tried backing up a DVD movie using DVD X Copy Express. It backed it up successfully, and played ok in my DVD player for the first 90 minutes or so, but then the pixels became increasing distorted to the point where the movie became unplayable. However when I played it on my PC monitor I had no problems at all. The movie was put on a DVD+R disk. Would it make any difference if I backed it up on a DVD/RW disk? This has happened a couple of times, and I'm not sure if it's the media (bad DVD blank) or my DVD player. If the former, why would it play ok in the DVD drive in my PC?

    Thanks for any suggestions

  2. Many makes of media combined with many DVD players have problems when getting towards the end of the disk, it is not uncommon. Best solution where possible is to never burn more than approx 4Gb to any one disk.

Thanks for the response... Can you tell me what media brands you've had the most success with?

I could, but compatibility varies quite a bit between players and even burners so you may not get the same results as someone else.

FYI, most of my 'good' media has been Traxdata branded Ritek discs. My Burner is an A03 and I burn at 1x.

  5. Try to use Brand name DVD-/+R discs...
If everything is infinite then nothing is definite.
