I used Sonic MyDVD to author a DVD captured from home movies. I authored the dvd in MyDVD and used the "make DVD folder" to put it on the hard drive. It plays just like a dvd using my dvd software (PowerDVD). I opened Nero and used the wizard to pull up the DVD templete (picked dvd; compile a new dvd; other dvd formats; dvd video.) I then dragged the files from the (Sonic MyDVD created) Video_TS folder into Nero's VIDEO_TS folder, and dragged the JACKET_TS & OpenDVD folders onto the compilation too. The whole thing came out to 4,432MB (with the file system overhead) I used a DVD-R (Sony) and set it to simulate and burn at 1x. I got a write error pretty soon into the sim.

I was also gonna try it with a TDK DVD+R but it won't let me simulate with that. Why?

Other info:
Nero v5.5.10.54 s/n 1500-0001-0035-0228-9446-1364
2633 megahertz Intel Pentium 4
512 Megabytes Installed Memory
burner: SONY DVD RW DRU-510A [CD-ROM drive]
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1 (build 2600)

Any ideas? I can post the Nero log if that would help.
Thanks in advance,
Tom
