  1. hi

    i wanted to know if it's possible to improve quality of badly encoded movie
    files.

    i got a couply of avi how are not that high quality,especially when they are
    viewed full screen they become blury.

    are there way you can improve quality of encoded movie files sothat they
    look better(maybe even high quality)

    i would appreciate any help

    1 Disk AVI's? Don't bother!

    What you are asking falls under the classification of 'Expert' skill level. you are looking at something that is an art. The same filters, applied in a different order, produce amazingly different results. Truly amazing filtering involves a mix of VDUB and AVISynth.

    I'm inclined to tell you to read the guides on VDUB and AVISynth filters. There are excellant tutorials on the basic filters and whaere you would use them. The problem is you have to understand what a guassian blur is versus the 4+ ways to mathematically resize an image. A filter always helps in one aspect and harms in another (you don't get somethign for nothing).

    You would have much better luck re-backing up your DVD's the right way.......
