I was thinking of trying the movie on one disk and everything else on another....can DVD Shrink do that? I mean keep everything like the menus and extras on anotehr dvd-r...can you keep menus even if the movie itself isn't there? I mean, you'd click play movie, and then nothign would happen, no big deal.

I dont think DVD Shrink can do that

it would be good if it could, when you press play movie it comes up with a message saying put in second disc and it ejects the current disc.... :P

Choose the Re-Author button and all of the titles on the DVD will appear. Title 1 is obviously the movie, choose the other titles and simply drag them to the upper left window.

  6. If you want to keep the menus and xtras in DVDShrink, you could put the main movie as still photos, and de-select any audio and/or subtitles on the main movie. This method will work, but the main menu as still photos would still take up more space than it should.
I wish DVDShrink had the option to make small black screen dummy files like dvd x copy.
I remember a guide that showed how to use dvd x copy's dummy files in place of still photo files in DVDShrink.
It's a little complicated, but would suit your needs, but I think it only works for keeping the main movie and menus.

My method - Set the main movie to "still pictures" and remove all 'main movie' audio and subtitles; in my experience (limited as it may be), all the remaining content (extras) will usually fit on one DVDR with no compression.
Then I use MenuEdit on the resulting output to remove/disable the buttons that play the movie, select subtitles, etc. , so all thats left is an "Extras" disc.

OR - If you're so inclined, you can probably use IFOEdit to "delete" playback of the main movie (the same way you can remove the FBI warning), then use DVDShrink on what's left, if needed. I've never tried this, but I don't know why it wouldn't work.
    You can't fool me, I'm a moron!
