  1. Just wondering if anyone had tried this? I have a number of VCD concerts and DIVX titles that I'd like to transfer to DVD. My video card has a S-Video out connection and I was thinking about connecting this to my Panasonic DMR-E50K DVD Recorder (along with my audio out from my soundcard via RCA audio cables). Just curious as to the video quality and if this is even worthwhile? Please let me know. Thanks.

  2. Manual settings for output video is always set at best. The dvd recorder has its default settings which probably have you choose 3 options (decent, good and excellent)... I would use it if I dont have a DVD Burner, but since you have your dvd recorder I dont think youll be wanting to gte a DVD Burner, although its come out better quality than the dvd recorder.

  4. luvvbuzz, I've tried this with a DIVX title and the results were pretty good. The problem is finding an application which will display the DIVX, VCD, or SVCD properly to the DVD Recorder. I use TV Tool and the Core Media Player for DIVX. Let me know how it works out for you.

  5. I've done this frequently with my laptop & Panasonic DMR-HS2. My laptop just has composite video out (no S-Video). I run Media Player full screen and record on the HS2 in LP mode. I'm happy with the results.
