    Hi guys,

    Firstly, i'm a newbie.

I want play video which is on my computer on my dvd player(panasonic dmr-ex87) via a SD card. jpeg files work fine, however, videos do not.

Specs for dvd player sd card slot - video: codec: MPEG 2 (SD-Video Entertainment Video Profile).

The video files that are MPEG Movie (.mpg) and MPEG Movie (.mpeg) what is the difference? They both dont work.

ive been told by pana that the sd on the player is for their video camera and not designed for the way I want to use it. though since that jpegs work i thought video would work and that I was doing something wrong!

btw, i know i can put whatever on a disc though i want to see about using sd card.

    any help?, thanks. blowfly01

If the device isn't designed to do it, then it won't happen. Panasonic have already told you that it isn't designed to play back video from SD cards, so you might as well accept it. I have a Samsung Series 6 LCD TV that will happily play back jpeg images and mp3 audio from a USB flash drive. I can put as much video as I like on it, the TV won't play it because it isn't designed to do so. The Series 7 will apparently play back video from USB HDDs when released. If it is possible, Panasonic might release a firmware update at some point that changes the functionality, but it might not be possible with the current circuitry anyway.

Convert the file to MPEG2 using MOVAVI. Available on free trial.
Use MULTIAVCD (free download) to process MOVAVI mpeg-2 output file.
Choose Panasonic Viera SD card with NTSC if in USA or PAL if in Europe.
Copy SD_VIDEO folder (output from MULTIAVCHD) to SD card.
    Play video on TV
