    HI

Could anybody help me to solve a problem I have when trying to make a VCD with TMPGEnc ?
The source file has the following features: XviD Mpeg4, 608 x 256, 29.976 fps, audio AC3.
TMPGEnc has a strange behavior with this kind of file. Searching in this forum I found that AC3 must be converted first to wav to make mp2 to multiplex with video.
But... in the second step, trying to open the file to process only the video, TMPGEnc give me the following message: "Write error occurred at adress 77752109 of module 'ntdll.dll' with 00000000"

If anyone has a clue, it will be appreciated
    Thanks

Strange file=strange behaviour. If you do a search right on this page for "Xvid to DVD", or any other format, you will see all the possible headaches that are in store for you.

My only advice is read. Then ignore everything, delete the file and don't download any more of them. They're awful and people have commented that just working with them messes up other programs.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1

  3. re xvid problems: try this, easy and works for me every time...

use avi 4cc changer (tools page) on the .avi file, change both boxes to dx50, apply, quit. now your system thinks this is a divx file, but it should playback fine and more importantly work fine with tmpgenc...let me know if this helps...

  5. Another option would be to increase the environmental setting for xvid. Bt changin' da 4cc works for you then kudos! (Yea, any garbage involving memory / ntdll.dll involves the envirnmental setting for the TMPGenc VFAPI. Just boost up the appropriate setting.)

  6. also copying ntdll.dll from your Windows/System or System32 (i forgot which) into your tmpgenc folder helps this problem

I converted an XVID a while back with AC3.

All you have to do is have the right codecs and TMPGEnc will read and re-encode it to DVD or VCD or whatever you choose.

Be sure to match the source settings in regard to framerate and ratio and resolution (within limits). Otherwise, your XVID will look like junk after encode into the new format.
