I use DVD Decrypter DVD2ONE and NERO 6. I made about 25 succesfull backups until about 2 weeks ago. Then all my backups started skipping. I tried new media (even though they worked before). I deleted a program that I had downloaded in case it was causing problem. I updated my Nero, updated my firmware, Tried burning at 1x 2x and 3x. I still get the same results. I only have one stand alone player, could it be the player? Does any one have any other suggestions on what to try. Also anyone with Nero6 know if it can tell if there is a problem with my burner? If it can I don't know how to use this feature. I've gone through about 8 DVD-R's trying and it's getting annoying. Thanks for any input.![]()

Welcome to the forums, cheeshead.
What media are you using?
They could be at fault even though you previously made 25 successful backups.
A bad batch is more likely to happen with cheap media, where the quality control leave much to be desired. -
That could be I first used optotech 4x that I could see being the problem. But then I used Meemorex 4x that I had been told was a higher quality. Also why now on every burn when they all worked before?

"Also why now on every burn when they all worked before?"
If there was a definition for "bad batch", this could be it.
Memorex has/had a very good reputation, but I have read (can't remember where) they have changed manufacturer fairly recently.
This could explain it. -
Well thanks for the input I was hoping someone else had some idea to save me since I am sitting on about 45 of the optotech and 40 of the Memorex. Think mail order company would trade me on the unopened package of optotech?

If it is the one you bought the discs from, I would say you have a fairly good chance. -
I'm somwhat of a newbie, but I was wondering: I downloaded DVDinfoPro and scanned one of the problem disc for read errors and it came up fine. Does this indicate no problem with the disc?
