  1. Hi guys.
i'm completely new at this, so i need all your help.

Well, i just got this dragonball dvd with english subtitles. i want to make mpg files (1 chapter per file) with the subtitles, so i can share them with my friends.

i followed the guide and was able to create the mpeg1 files, without subtitles. i did like this.

1st step. Use Smartripper to rip
    2nd step. Use DVD2AVI
3rd step. Use TMPGEnc and create mpeg1 files

i'm able to open them with Media Player and i'm happy with that. but i need them to have permanent subtitles. how can i make those subtitles from the dvd appear on the mpg files I created? I tried to find some guides, but no luck. can any1 telll me the instructions or give me the link to the guide that show me how to do that? i dont mind to start over, what i want is, at the end, i will have these mpeg1 files with the subtitles on them.

    thanks in advance!

  2. i guess i posted in the wrong forum. sorry.

thx for your reply. but i got a problem now.

after i use SmartRipper and Dvd2Avi, i created some vob files, audio file and dragonball.d2v file. i read the guide and i need a "fake" avi file for the VirtualDub. so i use VFAPI Converter to create a dragonball_d2v_vfapi.avi file. but, when i try to open this avi file in VirtualDub, i got this error

Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'vifp' (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codes, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.
what does that mean? how can i fix this?

Btw, i have VFAPI Converter 1.05, Vobsub 2.23, VirtualDub 1.56.
