hello,
i'm going to be getting a sony dw-u10a burner (anyone got any oppions on this burniger) for my birthday next month. i'm pretty good at making svcd's and have been doing so for 2 years. i'm just now finally getting around to getting a dvd burner.
my dvd player is a jvc-523g. my question is playing my dvd-r's on this machine. The machine will only play dvd-r's which is why i was looking into the sony burner which supports all the media types (incase i need a new dvd player in the future). the player does not support svcd normally but i can do the heading trick and make it play xsvcds fine. my question is what format does the dvd's i would burn be in?
i was reading previous post and it mentioned how dvd's being burned don't support vcd's. so i'm going to guess i have to convert all my svcd's back to dvd format. i'm just wondering if that change is going to cause another loss in picture quality of its another format that i will need to worry about my player being capable of playing.
sorry for sounding stupid with these questions.

If your dvd player supports it you could make DVD-SVCD's... (I found this post really confusing so I hope I gave you a good enough answear).
