hi
I have an avi that is stuttering when I'm playing it in windows media player, and anything else i try to play it on, i though it might be my codecs, but it cant be that cos I've just done a fresh install off windows, and I'm getting the same problem with it. I also checked fro bad frames with v,dub, but that came out ok to. has anyone got any other ideas wot it could be?

There's warnings all over this site. Codec packs are evil. Uninstall any, get individual codecs as & when you need them and cross your fingers that pack has not messed up any of your programs.
Do a search here on "codec pack". You'll see.
Fingers crossed for you. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
