3 films to one dvd-r

I have managed to get dvd shrink both the latest version and version 2.2 to compress 3 films to fit on one dvd-r. Anyone exlse got any experience with this kind of compression. I know the quality will be very bad but it could be worth it???

Only you can answer that question. How poor a picture are you willing to put up with.

BTW, 3 movies, approx 5 or 6 hours, on a DVDr, but at full D1 resolution, will probably be worse than a poorly encoded VCD!

You know those 50MB TMD avi files that kazaa users download.

Well imagine that, only with further distortion and a slightly crappier picture, and you have your answer.

You could use 1/2 D1 resolution and with an mpeg encoder (like TMPGEnc) use 1800 KB/s average bitrate for video, audio 224 Kb/s. That'll give you 5 hours on a DVD and the results would be more than acceptable to most people.
