    hi, i've trawlled the site but cant find the answer. can i re-encode svcd (non standard mpeg2 recorded on a standalone datavideo cd recorder) to windows media viewer format. thanks.

    I just opened up Windows Media Encoder for the first time in a while, and it looks like it accepts mpeg files directly, so you can do it that way.

    Windows Media Encoder is free, look in the tool section here.
