As will CladDVD and DVDdecrypter, they contain a box with the option to check it region free or not.

Any that you author yourself will be region-free. :c) You should be fine.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Actually it depends on the authoring application.

Does that not create region-free from self-authored files?

Info offered was based on info supplied. :c)

Yep, tmpgenc dvd author makes region free dvds.

(I checked it, "Disc Regions are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8" with dvdinfopro )

But remember NTSC and PAL problems...most PAL players/TVs can play NTSC but many NTSC players/tvs can not play PAL.

It looks like Region 3 would be Southeast Asia and East Asia (including Hong Kong) and NTSC.

Don't know if you'd consider it for just the month, but one site that sells Region 3 DVD movies recommends this player for PAL to NTSC.

Does not mention any TV requirements.

Perhaps something similar would work for you while you're there. :c)
