Hello,
I am new at burning DVDs from my home videos. I captured using Ulead VideoStudio. I imported it into Showbiz to edit and saved it as a DVD file. Tried to burn it with Showbiz but it said that the destination does not have enough space. I looked at the MPG2 file and it was 4.04GB. I thought that the DVD disc can hold 4.7GB? What am I doing wrong? Is there something I'm not understanding?

Try another authoring tool, like TMPGenc DVD Author. Probably want Showbiz reconvert the audio to wav/pcm and then it will become bigger. It may be possible to change that but I haven't used it.

You could just edit and even author right in your VideoStudio program.
There's no place like 127.0.0.1
The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts. -
I ran into the same problems using TMPGE and DVDit. I would get the file size to about 4.2-4.5G and then Nero wouldn't let me burn because the disc wasn't big enough??? Finally had to re-encode at a lower bitrate and put 2hrs 17min on the DVD, but it was only 3.5G and it looks like poo-poo.
