Until recently (roughly the time I installed Gordian Knot), all MP3 audio
compression on DiVX files (capture MJPEG, convert to DivX, compress
audio) worked fine. Now, however.....

Using VirtualDub (multiple versions, no change), as soon as the audio
data processed reaches 5452 kB, the MP3 compression drops from
100+ fps to 0 fps and stays there.

UPDATE: I tried a different MP3 bit rate---the magic number is NOT
5452 kB of audio data ... it's frame 9995. Again, for any DiVX file I
try. Also, the same happens in Nandub. I was going to try the same
in Premiere, but it won't give me MP3 compression...was also going to
try BeSweetGUI (which I've never used), but it won't open the AVI.
Other (non-MP3) CODECs work (used Ogg Vorbis for one).

I've replaced the MP3 CODECs, using (among others) the latest version
of LAME, and still, it stops at the same point every time ... on every
DiVX file.

Any idea what might be going on? Has something broken to the point
where I can no longer save video captures in DiVX//MP3 format?

Btw, just in case it matters, I compress video first (two-pass DiVX), and
*THEN* compress audio after that's done.

Suggestions, comments, etc., most welcome.....

Thanks,
