  1. Hello.
I'm using AGP ATI 9200 VIVO to capture with codec DivX 5.1 and have a problem. Dropped frames are 95-98%, and preview of capturing display not correctly. I tryed unistall & reinstall codec DivX 5.1 with DivXBundle or K-lite codec pack 2.1 for sometime, but the result is the same. I have no problem with DivX 5.05. If you have experieces please help, thanks.

  2. Have you tried using a different codec, like Huffyuv or capturing a small test using uncompressed video? It could be that the DivX codec is too complex to properly compress on the fly. Since I don't have experience with that, I can't say for sure.

Have you also tried an earlier version of ATI MMC, like 8.5 (I know 8.6 has it's problems and I haven't gone anywhere near 8.7)? 8.5 is still available at ATI's site.

Sounds like 5.1 is trying to do too much, and can't keep up in realtime.

Make sure it's set to CBR. Also remember that while DivX 5 supports interlacing, very few people actually use it, so it may be buggy.

If 5.0.5 is working, there's no reason to upgrade to 5.1, maybe you need to wait until 5.1.2?

K-lite codec pack causes more problems than it fixes, you don't need it, jsut install the basics (DivX, XviD, FFDSHow, AC3, MP3, and MPEG2 codecs and your set!)

  4. Hello.
Thank you for reply so soon. I have no problem with other codecs like PicMJPEG, Huffyuv, or DivX 5.05 ... With MMC 8.5 I cant'n capture, it only works with MMC 8.1 , 8.6 and 8.7 . Now, I installed older version of codec pack and everything works fine. I will reinstall DivX 5.1 again and try to set like Gazorgan said. I'll tell you about it's result later.

  5. Does is not have something to do with the fact that the Divx5.1 codec displays a window when you are encoding with it in programs such as Virtualdub?

I am guessing it is trying to initialise the window (which slows down the process) but MMC won't let it and this is causing the problems, whereas the pre 5.1 codecs don't use the display window and that is why they work okay.

  6. Hello.
Pixel, you said exactly what problem I have. I don't know so good English to write as you. DivX 5.1 works normally with Virtualdub, but it has problem with MMC version 8.1, 8.6, 8.7.
