  1. I have 5 mpeg's that I want to make into one. What is the best freeware to use or is there any freeware to accomplish this?

If it is a one-time project, try Ulead Video Studio 6 or 7. They are both trial ware.

  3. If you do not want to re-encode, I think you are in for a challange. Especially if you want the audio in sync.

    Did you read this post?

TMPGenc has a cut&merge function that is free.
    File- Mpeg tools- cut&merge.

If your files have identical properties that may work.

TMPGEnc does work very well for joining mpegs and it all stays in sync. I always use it for this, has'nt failed me yet

It fails me and other people at an unacceptably high rate.
