    Hi,

I have a DVDr image file (.img) that needs to be cutted so that it can fit one DVDr.

Which tool I can use to shorten one .vob file so that I don't need to re-authorize that DVDr and it still plays on my standalone player? I suppose that first I have to copy the content of that image to my hard drive (VIDEOS_TS folder etc.).

Thanks for your answer in advance!

A search on "edit vob" leads to here https://www.videohelp.com/forum/search.php?mode=results for some reading while you wait for replies.

Maybe some of those threads hold an answer for you.

The easiset thing I can think of is to get Daemon tools
and mount the image as a "fake" DVD drive. Then
    run DVDShrink on that.

...and if it's not already on the hard drive , where is it ? Can't be a DVD
    can it ?

    Thanks.

I've tried to find an answer before posting but it seems impossible when you have only two search words to use

The image is on my hard drive and I have used Daemon Tools to test this image. Can this DVDShrink to be used to cut original vobs to smaller ones? I just want to loose minute or so from one .vob file and that should be enough to get this image on DVDr.

DVDShrink will fix your DVD so that it fits. Trust me.
Just try it. Mine take about 15 minutes or less.

Before trying this software I just want to make sure that I'm able to shrink this DVD without encoding by using DVDShrink? It doesn't require re-encoding, right?

I only have to get rid of 30MB or something like that and don't want to sacrifice the quality.

You've been a big help, thanks again.

  7. If you only need to lose about 30 meg.. DVD Shrink will allow you to take out some unwanted Subtitle files and/or some audio tracks that you might never use (other languages etc).. This should give you back the space you need without re-encoding the video.

Now I've processed that DVDr image with DVDShrink and got what I wanted. I chose 20% compression for two extras which I'll never need and now it fits one DVDR.

Very handy tool and it's amazing that the size is 300kb, I had to re-check that the file has been downloaded completely

Somebody told me that the quality for the re-encoding is not so good. Can you confirm this if you compare it for example to TMPGEnc and CCE? Now I don't know if I have cuts to use this to actual movie (over 1h30min)...

    Thanks!
