Hello, I had this video of various things that I wanted to put on DVD. Well I got it on the computer and used Moviemaker to edit it. After that I used TMPENC to convert it after that I got a M2V file extension. I then used Arcsoft to do the authoring and buring it onto a DVD well after all that I got a disc that will play in my DVD player in the living room only problem is is that it has no sound!! If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Thank you all in advance!![]()

An M2V file is only the video. The reason you have no audio is because you didn't encode, or even include, the audio. Since you are putting it on a DVD you will (most likely) need to use PCM, or AC3 audio. Check the guides on the left, and also the "what is" section, just to familiarize yourself with all the little details of DVD - i.e. the types of audio supported, etc.

OK thanks I thought that if I encoded it with TPEMC (yeah that one) it would do the sound for me because it did it for the VCDs that I made. Thnaks.

Not a problem. If you want TMPGEnc to encode the audio, you need to use this setting:
But then it will encode the audio either in MPEG layer 1, or MPEG layer 2, which is not a DVD standard, so your set-top player might not play it."Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man, and let history make its own judgment."

No, no. You had a very good point, Gees. 48k, instead of 41k audio can make a world of difference

Well, I try to keep up on topics I'm involved with
To be honest, I hadn't even thought to mention the 48k/41k difference until I saw your post."Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man, and let history make its own judgment."

Ok so you are saying that I have to then encode the audio too. Any one that I should use.
Ok I tried this again but this time I followed the FAQ on using TMPENC and using that other option (not PCM but layer 2). after I encoded it I wanted to burn it to a DVD using Arcsoft Showbiz. Well everytime I go to start putting the chapters and all that in my video it will lock up and won't start the movie. I have to end the task and try to start over.
