  1. I want to put my Home Videos on DVD. I have a card that has TV In, but I want to know what is the best software to use to put it on DVD? Like to make Vobs of my home vids and burn them on a DVD-r

  2. Tmpgenc DVD author is probably the best one to start with. It's very simple and straight forward, easy to learn the basics and get good disks.
    Has more advanced features like motion menus and other things also.

    You'll need to have mpeg files as source files, it does not work with AVIs.

    1) capture to AVI with virtualdub or virtualvcr using an MJPEG codec
    2) convert AVI to MPG with TMPGENC
    3) author the DVD (MPG to VOB + menus etc) with DVDLab or TMPGEnc DVD Author

  4. Does your "TV in" card have a S-video,composite or coaxial connector?If it is coaxial then you need one that has S-video or composite.What brand of capturecard do you have?
    For software Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 is a good starter package with menus,if you want effects and background audio/narration get Ulead VideoStudio 7.
