    "Best" would require testing them all.

    Handbrake is good enough. "Fastest" doesn't compute because most use the same x264 codec. "Fastest" implies quality shortcuts.

    So are you asking for the fastest poor quality conversion?

    But what will you pay?

    For free, then anything using the x264 codec. They all run the same. I like Handbrake for pre-deinterlace or detelecine filters.

    Unless you are connecting your iPhone to an HD TV....what is the point? The iPhone is the size of a postage stamp compared to the original video file. Handbrake and/or WinFF and their iPhone/iPod Touch presets are all you need. Putting HUGE files on an iPhone for such a tiny screen is a waste of space and time.

  6. IPhone 4S Video formats supported:

    - H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;

    - MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;

    - Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.

    Makes sure the the settings ENCODER OF YOUR CHOICE Meets these requirements... If you go ever these... VIDS will not play or transfer to your I-Device.

    No problems with the iphone preset settings of XVID4PSP or MEGUI

  8. I have an IPhone... and use XVID4 PSP
    to get my videos to a format my Iphone can use.

    reviewd Here
    iPhone World reader jtarrio writes: “I can’t believe you haven’t yet discovered Xvid4PSP. This tools is 100% free and has buit-in profiles for most widely used portable devices, including iPhone, it’s very simple to use and provides very good quality! … I’d NEVER pay for a video conversion tool knowing something like Xvid4PSP existed!!”

    And indeed even though its name doesn’t imply anything iPhonic in it, XviD4PSP is actually an excellent program that can help you transfer your videos collection to your iPhone / iPod Touch without paying anything.

    The software is very intuitive, has an especially added 1.500 out aspect (for MP4 iPhone and MP4 iPod Touch formats), quite a big number of features, and generally is great because it’s completely free and supports a huge number of platforms apart of the iPhone (PSP, XBOX, iPods, and general PC/Mac video conversions are supported).
