hey i am trying to use my own bitrates in dvd2svcd and i put them in at the bottom but still it uses its own average and i cant work out a way around it other than changing all the sizes till it gets to where i want, is there a way to disable the bitrate calculator in it? also i do 5 pass vbr and the edges of parts are blury anyway to get that better? any help would be great

8) 5 pass ?? jeez .. overkill ... try soften intrablock noise on tmpgenc and do 2 passses. raise your bitrate to help with blockiness.

its ok i found out what i did wrong and the quality on tv is like a dvd, tried tmpg and was WAY to slow, was 20 hours on single pass compared to cce which is 18 hours for 5 pass, thanx for the comments though, heard heaps about cq just not to sure about it yet
