I am using DVD Shrink to rip and compress, need recommendations on good, reliable, high quality dvd "burning software" that will give me the very best video recording possible regardless of cost. Also if there is a higher quality "rip/compress software program" better than DVD Shrink please include in your recommendations. I am mainly just backing up "movies only" so authoring capabilities are not really something I am concerned about. Thank you for helping me decide.

Stuff cost, nero is cheap and one of the best out there. I have nero six and rate it as one of the best. However many other people slam it. Also it must be important if your player will play discs that you have made on it. My sony has never failed to play a disc created on nero when on the other hand it refuses to play anything created in stomp record max (a program which a lot of people rate as the best)
At the end of the day it comes down to what works best on your hardware.

I think Record Now Max is considered the best.
I have Primo DVD which is an older version of the same thing
and have never had problems. -
If you want cheap (free!) and have plenty of HD space, then you can use Imgtool to create an ISO image, and DVD Decrypter to burn (its in the guides somewhere).

You coul also try Burn4free, and burnatonce. Both are free so give them a try.
