  1. I read the guide to motion menus. And i have a question about the entire movie to burn? If i follow these steps correctly...the cue/bin file contains the full movie also?
And must i convert the movie into mpg using tmpeg program or not? Because i converted one movie into svcd and had to alter a lot off settings (using the guide)but with this guide about the menus it doesn't say anything about these settings.....i am just confused...i'm very (and i do mean very) new at this.

    thanx for the help

  2. yes you must convert the movie and get the mpeg files and then from there you make the motion menus. When you make the chapters and motion menus the bin and cue file will contain the info it needs to burn it but you must have the mpeg's to make the menus.

  3. "entire movie to burn"

    thats the problem

see...the mpg that you start with has to be small enough to fit on a disk...if you are doin a whole movie...when you originally encode it, you have to split it in half

whether you do this when you are ripping it (by ripping half a movie at a time, then encoding in two steps)

    or while encoding (in tmpgenc)
    is up to you

i normally just rip it in two sections

then you can create menus and chapters for each half of the movie...

as of now, ttool is tryin to figure out a way to be able to import chapters from smartripper in tscv when the movie is on two discs
till then you have to take it in half...enter chapter times for each half, one at a time
youll end up with two cue/bins
    then burn them each seperately

thats all i can to do help now

ill let ya know if any updates change it

  6. The CUE/BIN is the IMAGE of the VCD on your hard disc. It contains everything that needs to be written to the CD-R to make it a VCD.

how much disc space is lost when using (1)- motion menu (2)-picture menu. Will motion menus work with non standard mpegs (xvcd). thanks garman

  8. 1. If you use a video clip as the menu, then that clip must be a standard VCD spec MPEG-1. Thus, if it is 30 seconds long, you have 30 seconds less for everything else.

    2. If you use a still menu, then it will take 2 seconds off the total size of the disc.

    3. You must use standard MPEGs if you want compliant VCDs.
