I-Author problems

Hi!

Im trying to use I-Author to make my svcd....is it posible to make svcd with avi or vcd files? or do i have to rip my own dvds to use this?
cuz when i look at it it seems as tho u only can open mpv and mp2 files..and i dont know how to get my avi and mpeg files to that...i know this might be a dumb question but i wont to learn

first convert the avi to svcd mpeg

demultiplex it to a audio(mp2) and video(mpv) file

and now you can play around with iauthor

and you DONT want do convert vcd to SVCD....crap in crap out.
