  1. I though KDVD would be the answer i was looking for regarding getting more movies on one disc.

I converted 3 divx movies with the KDVD preset, i had to change the ratio for a couple as they were all different.

The results viewed with VLC were great, and the file sizes were very good.

I used Sizzle to create the menu and to link up the tracks with thier audio files. I couldnt use DVD Studio Pro as it didnt like the m2v files.

Anyway, i burned the disc image produced by Sizzle.

In the apple dvd player the menu worked fine and the movies did play but the top half of the screen was bright green. I thought this was just the player. I dragged the vob files onto vlc and they worked great.

I tried the DVD in my PS2 (as my normal dvd plaver doesnt like any burnt media)

Again, the menu worked fine. But each movie gave different results.

One would have the right half on the screen suttering with the previous menu graphic and the movie would start to play but only the right hand side of the 16x9 in the left side of the screen (if that makes sense)

One movie would play but stutter heavily, only about 1 or 2 frames a second.

The third film, played ok, though outlines on shapes and edges appeared to be very jagged. Im guessing this may just be do to the low quality but it is watchable, though not as good as when viewed on my mac.

    Anyone else use KDVD?

I really want to get more than one film on a dvdr, can i do it the normal way but with a very low bitrate so that the target size for both sound and video is under 2g?

Or is it just my PS2? It plays normal dvdr created with studio pro and idvd.

    Thanks

    sam

  2. KDVD preset uses some non-standard settings that some DVD players will not accept. Try to use hi-DVD preset and then change bitrate to 3000 and Q Matrix to "kvcd". if it works, use "Save preset" to create your own preset file for future encodings.

  3. thanks that worked great

not as small sizes as the original preset but enough to get two on one dvd

interestingly we got a new dvd player this week and tried the disc i burned in my first post that didnt work on the PS2

and this time i got different errors, still didnt play properly though

    but thanks for the advice

i just wanted to say it worked in case others have similar problems
