Get the cheap one unless you know that the bundled sofware in the retail
    version is worth the price.

Looks like they've got it wrong on their descriptions. The A06 is the retail version and comes with a couple of blank disks and software that you may or may not need, the 106 is the OEM version of the same drive. The OEM comes in a plain box and that is your lot, no screws, disks, software, etc. The BK on the end of either number, signifies a black front panel.

As FOO said, unless you have a great desire or need for a shiny box and the bundled software, get the cheapest.

FOO, if you read it, he asked three questions, you only answered the last one. If you don't give a rats ass what he wants, why bother posting?

I bought the Pioneer DVR-106D from www.avlogic.com for $159 shipped. Its the oem version of the A06. As people are stating if you want a nice retail box and software and stuff buy the 229$ one if not buy the 106d. Not sure what the A06u is but according to the site its the oem version of the drive meaning no software. The one with the bk at the end means black faced,

That is going to be the cheapest you will find it. I looked for 3 days for the best price on that drive and what I posted was the lowest price I could find. I should have gotten a black face one for my system but opted to get a beige one cause of the price.
