  2. Easiest? Ulead Movie Factory 2 background music but no animation. TMPGDVD .. animation but no sound (it says support sound, but I couldn't get it to works) More Difficult.. DVDLab allows all.. even more difficult Scenarist or Maestro...Don't want to learn. stick with Ulead

do you want something where you supply the raw materials, and the authoring software does the work for you?

or are you looking for authoring software that supports those features, and you will do the grunt work of precompositing motion menus, editing the audio loops, etc.?

I find DVD Lab very easy, but I also don't expect my authoring software to do anything except authoring, so I do all my compositing, sound editing, image prep for menus, etc, in different applications.

  5. Specialist.. he wants easy.. Workshop is definitely not easy!!! Unless you want to give a step by step guide

  6. Specialist is a spammer, trying to sell Ulead. He's already been warned by atleast one mod on here recently, but he obviously hasn't been deterred. I've seen him recommending DVDWS to someone only asking for a burning programme He doesn't have peoples best interest at heart, he's only interested in a potential sale/s.

Ulead DVD workshop is very easy, almost as easy as Ulead movie factory, only with more options.

There are guides on this site that explain parts of the process, but am surprised that a start to finish guide has not been done. Hmm....... Maybe I'll do one

  8. DVD Lab is really the best choice. I pesonally use Maestro, which has a steep learning curve but is actually pretty easy to use once you read the manual and the doom9.org guides. I've never used scenarist but the doom9.org guides make it look pretty involved (I'm sure that once you get into it it's not that bad, sort of like the adobe products).

The truth is that if you want to have full control of the authoring process there are a lot of potential steps/options. The one click programs make life easier but they don't give you as many options. More options means more freedom, and more freedom means more stuff you can screwup

Dollar for dollar DVD Lab is the best choice. After that I'd say Encore (nb - i've actually never used encore and it looks like it only accepts full D1 clips, but other wise all reviews are glowing).

  9. Ulead Movie factory 2 is easy and cheap. Specialist is correct about Ulead workshop having the capabilites, however Movie factory2 is easier except it can't do the animation. I use MF2 all the time even when I have more capable softwares like; Vegas, workshop, and mediastudio. The only thing that pisses me off about MF2 is that you can't fade the audio in/out on the slideshows.
