  1. Hello,

    For CD(R) to CDR there was/is CloneCD, just a few (4) buttons, click twice and the copying of a CD starts. Only options were

    READ to Harddisk
    WRITE from Harddisk
    READ-WRITE through Harddisk or On The Fly
    ERASE CDRW

    For DVDR (DVD+R to DVD+R) I haven't found such a program yet. Even CloneDVD gives much more options... which makes it that you have to check all the settings everytime, making sure you're not accidentally removing some subs or audio-language.

    The only thing that I found that comes close is DVDDecrypter in ISO mode. (READ ISO - WRITE ISO)
    But there has to be a still easier way.... (or just easier looking)

    I am looking for a program like CloneCD. Just 3 (maybe 4) buttons;
    1 = READ DVD to harddisk
    2 = WRITE DVD from harddisk
    3 = READ/WRITE from drive 1 to drive 2 with or without On-The-Fly

    That way even the none "computer-nerds" in my house can copy a DVD
    Does such a thing already excist

  2. I do it all the time with RecordNow Max. Just put the source disc in one drive the blank DVDR in the burner then open RecordNow Max and click on "exact Copy".

    What you would be wanting is DVDxCopy or DVDxCopy xpress
    although DVDShrink is farr cheeper and nearly as easy.

    Well that wont work for a couple of reasons.

    1) The disc has prob got CSS encryption on it, so you'll end up with a DVD-R of gargbage you cant watch

    2) The disc is prob bigger than 4.7 GB so wont fit onto a DVD-R

  5. The post topic says DVDR to DVDR so I assumed a copy of an already backed up DVD was what we were talking about.

  6. Whoops.

    Well in that case. Id just use Nero Copy...Maybe putting it onto the hard drive first.

  7. Yep it's DVD+R to DVD+R
    So I don't want to have to make all kinds of settings. Just run the program, tell it to copy the DVD+R and there it goes.
    DVDXCopy Xpress looks promissing.... I'm gonna try the trial.
    plain DVDXCopy is already "to complicated".
    Nero also needs to much steps before it starts copying.
    Also RecordNow and DVDShrink... all need to many steps.
    (I tried them all, some I already use to go from DVD to DVDR)

    Still thanx for all ideas !

  8. Ahhhhhhhhh.....

    DVDXCopy XPress is sublime.... indeed just one button saying COPY. Even my 3 your old daughter could copy a DVDR now.

    But there's a small problem with it;
    I always scan the covers of the DVD's, and put them in the root besides the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS directories. But DVDXCopy XPress doesn't do ISO copies but copies the VIDEO_TS and the AUDIO_TS directories and burns only those. So my scan won't be copied with it.....

    Darn... and I though to have found a superb piece of software.
    I want IMAGE copies. ;-(

    RecordNow Has too many steps? LOL use the "Max Wizard" and it's a one button operation.

  10. Okay sorry you're right... I didn't use the Wizard button

    Now I have to find a way to let it start with the wizard screen, prefferly without the mainscreen on the background....

  11. A nice simple little burning proggie is CopyToDVD (trial available).

    It has a nice "right click" feature "Copy To".
    All you do is right click on a Folder or a Drive and an option is offered to "Copy to DVD".
    If you have more than one Burner, you can select the one you wish and then click OK. If the Disk/Folder contains Video files, you are given the option of burning as DVD-Video or Data, otherwise it just burns.

    Very simple to use and works well.

    You can use ANY program to copy a DVD-R. ANY PROGRAM AT ALL.

    Put the disc in your reader.

    Put the blank in your burner.

    Run ANY PROGRAM THAT BURNS DVD's, and hit "copy".

    Wait.

    You could write a script to run DVD Decrypter with command line options and do an ISO copy. These are in 3.1.6.0 and will be further extended in 3.1.7.0 apparently. I might have a go at it this weekend.

  14. Gurm....

    Ofcourse any burning software can be used, I know that.
    But read my first mail and you'll know what I meant. I want it as easy as possible like good old CloneCD (no CloneDVD isn't that easy). In such a way that i.e. even my daughter of 3 can do the job. So just an one button system.
    DVDXCopy XPress came very close. Indeed one button, but adds some kind of copy protection and also don't copy the files I include in the root.

    Otherwise DVDXCopy would be perfect. If it only could make an 100% exact copy, by using the harddisk in the middle.

    DVD-ROM drive ---> HDD ---> DVD-R(W) drive

    3 clicks, one to start nero, one to click Disk Copy and one to start burning and it does it on the fly without the need for ripping

    personally I don't use Startsmart but it's an option that's if it also copies the extra folder you add but if you try please say as I would like to know

    cheers

    DVD Copyware works with one button with 4.7 or less source.
    You can go right from dvd rom to dvdr, or intermediately to hard drive.
    if source is larger than 4.7 Copyware will split with proper menues, etc.

    Not that anyone would wish to decrypt, but this is done as well.

  18. I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't trust my 3 year old to burning CDs or DVDs, what with his criminal record of inserting PB&J sandwiches into VCRs.

    The best you are going to get is around a 3 click process with the wizards in Nero, RecordNow MAX, or similar burning apps.

    And that's really about as good as CloneCD is.

    One click to start the program, another to pick "copy disc", another to say yes you're ready, and another to eject 'em when you're done.

  20. If you put a ps2 dvd game into your reader & a blank dvd in your writer & use RecordNow you just click one button, the copy button, thats all. Doesn't mean you can play it without a mod. A copy of the Simpsons hit & run dvd takes only 20 minutes.

  21. Aside - do you really find DVD Decrypter to be that hard? I mean it's two clicks and two buttons. We're getting pretty damn lazy if that's to much work

  22. Perhaps it would be good to teach people using computers how to use them instead of trying to find a program that does everything when we turn on the pc??

    That's what windows is supposed to do and we see how well that works don't we!

    If you want true one button copies, you can get a duplicator controller for about $200, a $40 rom drive, and $150 or less burner, add a few cables and a case/ps. For about $400- $500 you have a true 1 button copy

    Add up to seven burners you got a true one button 7 copy system

    I actually plan to build me one soon. Start with one burner and work my way up as I have extra money and prices drop!

    Course I plan to produce my own DVDs I have made and own all rights too.
