  1. Hello

I've Started to use nero cause i like the way you can change the volume label so when i put the film in to my pc the name pop's up, i use to use nero express didn't like it how every film was just labelled 'NEW'.

    I use nero version 5.5.10.50

    i load nero
    select DVD Video

Now my Q is about the iso level
which one do i use - iso level 1 (max 11 chars)
    - iso level 2 (max 31 chars)

are these on about the name of the volume label
ie. if im backing up TOY_STORY thats only 9 characters so thats iso level 1 right.
But if i back up sumthing like ONCE_UPON_A_TIME_IN_AMERICA thats 27 chars so would that be iso level 2

Is that right or are these iso levels about sumthing else?
i've read a good few Guides they all say to use iso level 1 but i've also noticed that when they use the name in the volume labal they never go over 11 chars.

  2. You need to use ISO level 1 to ensure compliance with the greatest number of DVD players. In regards to the 11 characters I think you'll finf that it refers to the file names on the DVD and not to the label. I've most certainly used labels of more than 11 chartacters with no problems but if you look at the DVD in DOS mode you only see 11 characters (8 plus 3 in the extension e.g. papillo~.doc).

Hmmmm! A thought, how many DVD players show the disc title anyway? I've not seen any that do, not to say that none do so.

  3. Mine shows the title, but that's DVD TEXT, and NOT the volume label.

    Two different things.

  4. Cheers Duchess

So the iso thing is on about the folders you put on to the disc
    ie. VIDEO_TS
    AUDIO_TS
    and not the label

    thank you Duchess
