I wanted to know if anyoned tried putting svcd files onto a dvd-r and playing it this player. Instead of re-encoding svcd to dvd, is it possible to just pile each svcd on dvd and play it as data file? I know lvd2001 lets you do this on cd, but i dont know about dvd. anyone?

Yes it does. Actually I am writing a review for a "site" and I mentioned this and it works pretty well. Played a simpsons mpeg2 file straight from a dvd. There was also divx, xvid, mp3's, jpegs and other junk on the dvd that worked.
