Certain DVD's will copy fine using DVD XCopy but will only play
through the computer using PowerDVD. Another inconsistency was that I recorded a movie onto a DVD+RW which played on both the Panasonic
standalone and the computer, but when I copied the RW DVD onto an R
dvd (using Roxio), the copy of the copy would only play on the computer. In comparing the file content of both DVD's they seemed identical. Are there any standalone players which which will play disks which also play in the pc?

Did you check to see if the media is dvd+r because the 62 only reads dvd-r and not + because I had that machine and I sold it to get the 35s by panasonic that in fact does read all dvds including ram I hope this helps..
