Hello. I am New to DVD burning. Have done lots of encoding, etc.. in the past, but only things like, vcd,svcd,divx,etc..
I now have a DVD burner that I have yet to use.
I hear all this stuff about shrinking the move via dvdshrink, etcc.., ripping, encoding the movie, etcc..
If I want to take a library of DVD-R's that are backups already of the original and create my own back-ups, do I still need to go through all this rig-a-ma-roll?!!!!
Or is it already done, and now just a simple process?
I had this idea that I would bew able to back up the DVD-R ion like one or two simple steps. I am getting the feeling that this is not the case?
What are your thoughts.
Is it the same process still as burning a store bought DVD?
THANKS![]()

where is this "library of backups" coming from? is this stuff that you've already backed up in divx or vcd format?

Or freeware wise you can use DVD Decrypter:
1. Choose "Mode | ISO - Read" and rip image file to HD
2. Choose "Mode | ISO - Write" and burn image to DVDR -
To answer your question quickly.
YES, you can just hit "copy" on your favorite program, and copy a copy. Copies have NO protection at all, aren't encrypted, and could even be dragged and dropped from the disc to your desktop and then back to the disc if you felt like it.
Now... if you're thinking of copying some friend's backups or something, that's ILLEGAL and we don't talk about it here, understand?
