I wonder if they would send you a couple of samples if you asked? Just so you don't have to buy 100 of them to find out they are crap.

  4. !!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd avoid them because most likely they are the fake ones that are still circulating around Asia. I've never recalled Maxell selling OEM discs, even when CDRs were popular.

  5. it's a no brainer..of course they're fake. As far as "samples" go....I wouldn't wanna put crap like that in my burner....especially with rigged write strategies on inferior media....don't know about anyone else...but even free..I wouldn't risk taking those.

  8. LordSmurf must be right...I haven't read too many positives on ESBUY..and I remember when I searched the net for the "SKY" brand they carry...it took me to some other forums where everyone said how crappy those SKY disks were. No wonder they keep lowering the price on them. Apparently those sky disks are made in Switzerland....but they are total crap....i've never used em'...but from what I read..they are completely useless.

I wonder which is more complete crap...Long..tens or the 'SKY' brand...humm.....mine as well say they're both total crap and stay FAR AWAY.

I've heard ALOT of bad stuff about them, but let me say they are who I purchased my original A04 from, as well as the first cheap media I found that works. (esbuy 1x, turned out to be Ritek G01 after I knew better) So your mileage may vary.

I had a bad experience with them last year, back when I used to talk to txpharoah (where'd you go?) about a lot of things, and we both got suckered. I got their PINK-COLORED 2x LeadData discs, back when 2x media was still really expensive, as per Tex's suggestion, but they later died on us both.

Again, I got the PURPLE RITEK 4x discs in 10-disc sampler. Again, he and I compared notes, and thought the media deal was good enough to buy the 4x spindles. (At the time, I had not used much Ritek media.)

    BUT THEY PULLED A BAIT-N-SWITCH !!!!!!!!!!

Both he and I got these really shitty silver-topped discs with some sort of oddball media ID. I sent mine back (I think he did the same) and had to file chargebacks with the credit card due to false advertising.

The esbuy.com guy said "they're just as good" and then went on to actually tell me the purple coating was just a sticker! Complete moron as far as I'm concerned.

All fake, crappy company, stay away. Stay FAR, FAR away!!!

I hate to hear this about ESBuy.com. I am currently in need of disks and have bought from them several times, always buying the 4x Ritek disks which always show up as Ritek G04 in DVD Decryptor. I was actually considering buying some of the PioDATA this time because of the price difference and what I had read in the Media FAQ about those disks being fairly reliable. Looks like more thought and consideration is needed before buying.
