I have a whole bunch of SACD and I use select tracks from 6 titles to do my reviews (my job). Rather than carrying and changing 6 discs all the time, I'd like to compile those 6 tracks from 6 different SACD into one. Is there any way to do that?

i think not
"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
with SACD not being a DVD and all, burners don't exist. Given that the format will not likely be used for PC data, don't expect to see one anytime soon.

Also given that SACD is a dual-layer format, with the SuperAudio layer being the deeper "layer 2" and the standard CD-audio layer being "layer 1", you have the same technical obstacles to overcome as you do with dual-layer DVD-R. Considering that there is still very little market for SACD at all, this makes it very unlikely that SACD burners will ever exist in the forseeable future.

Thanks for the replies.
However, regarding the dual layer of SACD.
Well first of all, should anybody want and copy it, they'll just copy the first layer to a regular CD and the second layer to DVD. Even some newly released SACD are still single layered (SACD only, no CD content).
Secondly, I'd think people would want to burn their own SACD as compilation. Especially considering the price of SACD titles of (in general) around US$10 -
I, too, have been interested in figuring out if SACD can be recorded, most ly because I just bought a Pioneer DV-563A which can play both SACD and DVD-Audio. So far, I haven't found anything that makes me think it can be recorded.
Here's a snipper froma website about SACD, http://www.oade.com/Home_theater/Sacd/about_philips_sacd.html
"From the outside, the SACD Hybrid Disc looks like any other 12 cm diameter and 1.2 mm thick optical disc. A closer look reveals that the disc is a bonded combination of two 0.6 mm data carriers: one containing the SACD data, the other the CD data. The reflective coating on the SACD carrier has the optical characteristic to be reflective for the light used in the SACD pick-up (650 nm), but to be transparent for the light used in a CD pick-up (780 nm). To a CD pick-up, the SACD layer is virtually invisible, as a result, the CD layer contained within the SACD Hybrid Disc is fully compatible with the "Red Book" CD standard, and can, therefore, be played on all "Red Book" compliant players."
So, I would say that until somebody invents a PC CD/DVD drive that has a laser that operates at the 650nm wavelength, you won't be able to record the data directly.
Of course, if you have a DVD player that plays SACD, you should have discrete 6-channel output jacks for SACD. Then you could always just record the analog output from the front left and right channel output jacks, as long as having the 6-channel effect was not important. -
Uh, my DVD burner operates at 650NM according to these instructions.
Be interesting to see how a multi format player behaves if you put SACD content on a DVD disc, does it do a physical media check? -

flaninacupboard, you're absolutely right. I should have said ...until somebody comes up with a CD player that operates at 650 nm...
Since DVD burners do operate at 650nm already, they should theoretically be able to see the files, although the firmware probably doesn't know what to do with them.
Since I didn't have any SACD disks, I went out today and bought Pink Floyd - "Dark Side of the Moon" hybrid SACD. When I put it into my Sony DRU-510A, it only sees the CD audio tracks.
I'm guessing that apparently the firmware is set up to recognize and give priority to the CD audio layer, rather than the SACD layer, whose files it probably doesn't recognize.
If I could ever find a SACD-only disk, it would be interesting to try it in my DVD burner to see if it can see the SACD files. I can't find any SACD-only disks in the local brick-and-mortar stores. I'll probably have to buy one online. -
I have 3 Pioneer DVD-ROM reader (3 different models) none of them 'see' SACD at all (neither the CD layer nor the SACD layer).
If you're looking for single layered SACD, some of the titles are:
Gloria Estefan - Greatest Hits
Gloria Estefan - Abriendo Puertas
Michael Jackson - Thriller
