Wow! Now that's a comprehensive question.

The interesting part of the log is that it says that recording finished succesfully with warnings, however I failed to find any in the previous eventlog entries.

Verification failed due to read errors. As many files were accessed (18), I assume the disk was recorded to some extent. Verification started at 3:12:07 while errors were reported after 3:17:06, so I assume all the files until them were recorded succesfully and verified ok.

Well, I'm afraid the answer will be quite simple. Change the media you are using. Buy one or two high quality media disks and test them. If they burn ok, then it's the media. If not, then it's probably the drive, although most likely it's the media.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  3. thanks for the swift response. I reviewed the dvd media section but I'm still clueless as to which media would work better over others. I understand there isn't a "best" media but a suggestion would be suffice.

thanks for your help and your patience

  4. Everyone here has been saying that there are problems with Nero version 6 so why not go back to version 5.5 (I think that's right). I wouldn't know because I could never get the program to install on three different computers.

Also maybe consider using RecordNow Max which seems to work for me on three different DVD burners?

  5. I have experienced the same problem before as yours.
You have to test different brands of media yourself and find out which of them are suitable for your DVD recorder.
I don't think it is the problem of burning software.
