  1. I have a mpeg file that is about 1.2 GB and about an hour and 30 minutes long and it wont let burn it in toast it says it is too big. but the dvd should be able to hold 4.4gb what is the deal. i though toast 6 was going to allow you to write a vcd type file onto a dvd so therefore you could fit like 3 or 4 vcds onto one dvd. thanks

First of all, .mpeg doesnt imply DVD. Say you burn a .mpeg thats 1.3 gigs to a dvd, sure it will fit, but put the dvd into your dvd player and it wont play (obvious to some not so obvious to others)

SO, why is toast telling you it wont fit???
    1. It needs to be CONVERTED to dvd format (ie VIDEO_TS fodler) and have the necessary format of audio (which most mpeg files do not have!)
    2. This conversion will usually put a 1.2 gig mpeg file close to 4.4. gigs, but even 1 sector over and its going to say too much.
    3. the "toast" method of mpeg to dvd isnt the best in the world for size, it does work though and it works well.

For example, take a 784meg mpeg file and drop it into toast under SVCD and it will say TOO LARGE. BUT take the same file, manually make the .bin/.cue and drop them in under the disk image .bin/.cue setting and it says how fast do you want to burn. Strange? Yes. lots have complained.

SO! what you need to do is just make your dvd image - ie package your movie as a VIDEO_TS.
you can do this one of many ways.
    1. *easiest* though not working on all players is the method in my website
    2. *medium* Compose your dvd with Sizzle.
    3. *not so hard, but more than medium* Compose the VIDEO_TS or image with ffmpegx
    4. *difficult* compose it all with dvd studio pro other pro apps.

you choose what you want to do. Im assuming you will pick what you know how to do or are comformatbel with.

1 or 2 are the ways i would go
