can't burn dvd+r using pioneer dvr-106

hello all,

I have been using my write for few weeks and successfully burnt some dvd-rs, but have no luck at all with dvd+r (memorex and verbatim). The firmware of the driver is 1.05. Do I need to upgrade to 1.06? Anyone has this problem? Thanks for all the help.

One of my friends uses 1.06 FW and says the drives 'plus' performance is excellent.

i have the 106d for a week now and so far i could burn at 4x... using tdk dvd+r and memorex dvd+r (office depot sale). very good burner.

flashed to 1.06, tried one more dvd+r, still no go...am i the only one having this problem?? thx for help

All I burn is DVD+R with my Pioneer A06. Seems that if you are burning the -r format the same way you burn the +r format you shouldnt be having troubles.

First thing I would do is make sure it is def. the Pioneer A06/106.

Pull the drive out if you have to and look at the model/serial number.
I'm sure it is the right model but crazier things have happend. Did you get it from a reliable seller? You might just have to RMA the drive and get a new one.

Just don't wait too long because if I remember correctly OEM versions usually only have a 30 day warranty.

The memorex dvd+r I tried is also bought from office depot (B1G1F deal), but it doesn't work for me.
